She's young, no more than twenty, and she looks haggard in her torn shirt and scuffed jeans. She is bruised and bleeding. Somebody has obviously roughed her up. Catherine Dupree suggests they take her to the hospital to get her wounds treated. The girl reacts violently, demanding she instead be taken to Covington East, a sprawling complex of pre-Civil War buildings that once housed an exclusive girls' school but now stands abandoned. Tonight though, is the Saturday before Halloween, and Johnny knows that a huge party is being held on the school grounds, condoned by the city's political elites, who will be in attendance, costumed, drunk, and high. Reaper by Glen Pitts - In the early 80’s, gang activity was at a peak. Ronald was living the lifestyle to the utmost. The back room of his mother’s house was off limits to the rest of his biological family. The room was a place for members of his other family, his organization. It is where they would discuss business, store their guns, bag up their drugs, smoke weed and talk about women. Ronald’s younger brother, Cornelius was born a wild child. He was fearless and had a dark heart. Ronald knew the only person Cornelius would ever love or respect was their mother and anyone else could get it. His violent actions indicated this to anyone he’d came across, ever since he was old enough to walk and talk. Cornelius admired the comradery that his older brother Ronald and his associates shared. He was fascinated by all of the sex, drugs and money and wanted in. By eight years old, Cornelius was begging Ronald to allow him to join his gang, but his brother always refused. Ronald knew if Cornelius had a taste of this life, there would be no turning back for him. Living in an area of Chicago where the community was just as much Hispanic as it was Black, Cornelius found his place. Embraced by a Hispanic organization, his loyalty and dedication crossed any and all racial boundaries. Along with that, he was naturally merciless, and brutal when it came to handling business for the organization, and his evilness knew no boundaries when it came to retribution and order.
